Cowflat

We spent almost 3.5 years of our Agnes lives living at the farm...
The little old shack about 20km out of Agnes Water @ Captain Creek.
Situated on 1200 acres of land...whoever would have thought that we would have ended up there, living that lifestyle for so long, and loving it?!
But of course it never actually occurred to me just how many fun & happy memories we had out there until we had to remove all of our stuff from there for good...which wasn't until January this year...
We did the big old clean out ready for new tenants to move in...and the little old place scrubbed up so well (it looked much cleaner & more appealing now than it ever did when we decided to move in!).
But it wasn't until I was mopping the floors on my way out that I stopped & took a look around at what once was ours...
It made me sad! (Or maybe that was just the pregnancy hormones kicking in?!) Either way I had a tear in my eye.

SO...this prompted my next blog.
Our life that was 'On the Farm!'
Living in the little old shack that never failed to produce mould - and a great deal of it in the wet season! Stinking hot in Summer...but so warm & cosy in front of the fire in Winter!
I never anticipated living on a large property in my life. And I certainly didn't think that in my lifetime I would have:
  • Hand raised a calf & named him so that he could be our pet!
  • Learnt to ride a motorbike & loved it...and miss it now that I'm pregnant!
  • Lived on 1200acres...and LOVE it.
  • Lived in a house with a toilet & shower that was outside & share the toilet with the biggest green tree frog you have ever seen.
  • Learnt that there is no such thing as locking a house in a rural area.
  • Come to terms with the fact that spiderwebs would always out number us & to just leave them alone would be easier than trying to fight with them!
The Farm...the home that was so easy to love but so easy to hate at times.
It had character & charm in its own special way...and its this that I know we will miss.

Its nice to learn how to love the more simple things in life...and we certainly learnt this from living on the farm.
We will definitely miss what we had there...but without a doubt, we have some awesome memories to take with us on our next adventure!!
